CCTR 453 Technical Translation: Information Technology (English to French) (1.5 credits)

Overview

Translation : Technical translation from English to French, focusing on IT-related products. Overview of key concepts which include localization, internationalization and globalization. Introduction to and study of the translation problems specific to these texts, as well as the various strategies, appropriate resources and tools used to mitigate them. Practice with software localization, in particular, user interfaces, user manuals and online help, as well as other texts related to computer applications in various industries.

Terms: This course is not scheduled for the 2024-2025 academic year.
