CSCI 104 Introduction to Psychology (3 credits)

Overview

CSCI : Overview of the scientific approach to the study of human behaviours. Interaction of factors that influence human behaviours. Methods and concepts of psychology applied to real life situations. Areas of specialization and major characteristics of psychological research. Biological bases of behaviour: (1) the nervous system and (2) genetics, motivation and emotion, memory. Perception and sensation, learning. Also covered: an overview of intelligence, consciousness, personality, social psychology, abnormal behaviour, development.

Terms: This course is not scheduled for the 2024-2025 academic year.

  • Restriction: Only open to students that are part of the NUin Canada study abroad program (Northeastern University visiting students).
