The Faculty of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences recognizes the important role played by teaching assistants (TAs) in undergraduate education. As a result, the Graduate Teaching Assistant Excellence Award was created to acknowledge TAs who excel in their activities. The award is presented once a year to a TA who has demonstrated excellence in teaching scholarship and service. Awardees will receive a monetary award and a certificate from the Faculty of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences.

Established in 2012 by Lallemand Inc., in memory of Donald Van Horn,ÌýM.Sc. 1975.ÌýAwarded by the Faculty of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences Scholarships Committee to doctoral students for the best Ph.D. thesis in the Faculty in the area of food microbiology / food biotechnology, upon recommendation of the Department of Food Science and Agricultural Chemistry. The thesis should be of an excellent standard. Preference will be given to thesis research related to the production, uses and control of microorganisms such as yeast and bacteria in fermented and other foods.Ìý

Held by theÌýLister Family Engaged Science InitiativeÌýin collaboration with John Abbott College, the Lister Science Chats connect members of the community with researchers from the ɬÀï·¬ Faculty of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences. The event features four Macdonald Campus Master's of Science students giving an engaging 10-minute talk about their research and how the discoveries, sometimes unintentional, and techniques of previous scientists made their work possible. The event will conclude with an open Q&A period.

This one-day conference will examine how climate and health can be used to frame both challenges and solutions. We will explore the health impacts of both climate change disasters and emerging threats, and engage in discussions with both policy actors and community groups about the latest innovations and technologies being used to mitigate the consequences that climate change has on public health and wellbeing.
